18 April 2013
Glasgow Science Centre has three big reasons to celebrate - a record breaking year for visitor numbers, opening their biggest exhibition to date and having the busiest Easter holidays period since the five star attraction opened over a decade ago.
The Science Mall at the Centre was visited by 270,368 people during the last financial year, making it the busiest year ever since it opened in 2001. Overall, Glasgow Science Centre experienced a 7% increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous year, which dwarfs the industry growth of 1.5% (as recorded by the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions). While Glasgow Science Centre experienced a 10% uplift during July and August, 70% of attractions across Scotland saw a decline.
28 March 2013
Glasgow Science Centre today (March 28) opens its £2m BodyWorks exhibition, featuring more than 100 interactive exhibits and other features aimed at raising awareness of health and well-being in the 21st century. The new exhibition, housed on the Centre’s top floor overlooking the River Clyde, is the first major refreshment of exhibition space since the opening of the Centre to great acclaim more than a decade ago.
