Food Heaven this Christmas

Glasgow Science Centre has your Christmas shopping wrapped up this year with the perfect gift for those who like to eat and those who love to cook. Give a slice of ‘food heaven’ with tickets to the Centre’s Taste of Science Dinner hosted by celebrity TV chef James Martin on March 14th 2013.
The night is sure to be a cracker with a champagne drinks reception, sumptuous 4 course meal and a presentation from James. Passionate about all things culinary, the BBC Saturday Kitchen host will explore the fun of experimenting with food and putting together unusual flavours plus will be answering all your food questions.
James Martin said:
“I am really looking forward to coming to the Glasgow Science Centre to host a Taste of Science dinner. People are becoming more confident with food and experimenting with different flavours and techniques so the dinner is a great way of celebrating this winning combination of food and science. It will be an evening to remember and of course, the food will take centre stage, and I for one can’t wait to wait to sample the delicious 4 course menu.”
The evening’s menu has been specially crafted by Glasgow Science Centre’s chefs and is guaranteed to tickle everyone’s taste buds:
• Lobster, scallops, clams and mussels with sand, sea foam and seaweed
• Lemon, pickled ginger and green tea sorbet, raspberry glass
• Trio of duck, roast breast, smoked leg and white chocolate and liver parfait with potato terrine, pea jelly and glazed baby carrots
• Pina colada, textures of pineapple, rum, coconut and cherry
This is the second Taste of Science Dinner, with Master Chef host John Torode presiding over the festivities last year. Over 450 people attended and learned about the TV Chef’s love of food and exploring the current trend of ‘laboratory cooking.’
