RAF Stories: Do you have what it takes to fly an RAF Typhoon Jet?
Do you have what it takes to fly an RAF Typhoon Fighter Jet? Do you see yourself as an RAF pilot — flying high at 30,000 feet, out-manoeuvring your opponent, performing daring aerobatics and being crowned ‘Top Gun’?
If you've answered yes to any of these questions then you must come down to visit our Centenary event at the end of August.
With the aid of Virtual Reality, you’ll be able to put yourself in the cockpit of an RAF Typhoon and experience the wonder of flying in the Royal Air Force’s operational fighter. And if VR isn’t enough, you’ll also be able to sit in the cockpit of the real thing and talk to the Typhoon’s pilot and ground crew.
So, don your flight suit (pilots call them ‘growbags’…) and prepare to launch into the skies, you’ve got an important mission.
Are you ready to accept the challenge and rise above the rest? In addition to the Typhoon, the Glasgow RAF100 tour here at Glasgow Science Centre will feature the Sopwith Snipe Biplane, the Supermarine Spitfire MkVb, the Harrier GR3 ‘jump jet’, and the latest F-35 Lightning.
Meet past, present and future members of the Royal Air Force in an interactive STEM/Techno Zone and learn more about the skills required to be part of the RAF.
Fly a Typhoon!
With planes through the ages and lots of free activities, Glasgow Science Centre is the only place to be for the RAF100 Centenary celebrations.
